Mike Lindup and Professor of Rock talk about the origin of one of Level 42’s biggest hits, ‘Something About You’
A British-Pakistani woman reaches a crisis in her life when the escalation of her feelings for an intriguing, but evasive, man coincides with the reappearance of her estranged father. Mike Lindup composed the score and is even seen in a scene playing piano.
Mike’s 1990 album “Changes” was re-release on the Resurgence imprint in 1994. Having been out of print for a while, we are thrilled to be able to make twenty of the last CDs from this batch available to purchase for £20 (plus £3.80 P&P).
Mike has been invited by Latin Jazz pianist Alex Wilson to do two Afro-Cuban flavoured shows at the Pizza Express Dean St, Soho, London, on Friday 26th September. They will be accompanied by Davide Mantovani on bass, and Edwin Sanz on percussion.
Sirens-5Mike will be heading off on tour this October/November with Level 42 on the Sirens Tour. The band will be featuring songs from the Sirens EP released late last year, with a 3-piece brass section on stage, Dan Carpenter (Trumpet) and Nicol Thomson (Trombone) augmenting Sean Freeman on Saxes.
Mike Lindup and Alex Wilson return to the stage next week on Saturday 7th March at the Steinway Festival in London, held at Pizza Express Jazz Club, Dean St, London … 2 Grand Pianos on stage and Level 42 tunes as you’ve never heard them before.
